About Sidekick Occupational Therapy
Sidekick Occupational Therapy was created by Caz Morris, an OT that has worked locally for over 15 years. Caz is passionate about providing a service that puts the person first, hence the name ‘Sidekick’. Caz believes that is how therapy should be viewed and implemented. As a helpful support by your side through a season of life. Not to do for you, but with you. You are the main character, your sidekick is here if you need.
Our Mission/the ‘what’
Sidekick Occupational therapy provides neuroaffirming strengths based supports to children, young people and their families. Supports work with the person to enable them to achieve goals meaningful and important to them.
Our Values/ the ‘how’
Respect
For the person, their lived experience. For individual differences and neuro-types.
Authenticity
Building genuine connections, valuing the person and what is important to them. Supporting the person’s strengths and life preferences.
Safety
Prioritising nervous system safety and emotional safety for the person and their family. Providing a non judgemental, caring approach to therapy.
Our Purpose/the ‘why’
Sidekick’s purpose is to partner with children, young people and their families to deliver neuroaffirming, trauma informed occupational therapy that supports growth and engagement.
Our Vision (‘where’ we hope Sidekick takes the community)
To a future where children and young people are accepted and celebrated for every aspect of their being. Where they receive the support they need to grow without judgement and continuous justification. Where they are instead met with validation.
